Newly appointed Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Quannas White is making swift strides in shaping his inaugural recruiting class, securing commitments from two promising players: North Dakota forward Dariyus Woodson and high school combo guard Mike Collins.

Dariyus Woodson: A Versatile Forward Returns South

Dariyus Woodson, a 6-foot-7 forward from Baytown, Texas, is transferring from the University of North Dakota. During the 2024–25 season with the Fighting Hawks, Woodson averaged 8.5 points and 2.4 rebounds over 32 games, including seven starts. Prior to his time at UND, he showcased his scoring prowess at Tyler Junior College, leading the team with 14.3 points per game and shooting 48.7% from the field and 37.7% from beyond the arc.

Woodson's decision to join Louisiana brings him closer to home and adds a seasoned, versatile scorer to the Ragin’ Cajuns' roster. His ability to stretch the floor and contribute on both ends aligns with Coach White's vision for a dynamic and resilient team.

Mike Collins: A Dynamic Guard from the Lone Star State

Mike Collins, a 6-foot-1 combo guard from Shadow Creek High School in Pearland, Texas, is the first high school recruit to commit under Coach White's tenure. Ranked as the 39th best combo guard nationally by 247Sports, Collins chose Louisiana over offers from Arizona State, Penn State, and UMass.

Known for his athleticism, court vision, and scoring ability, Collins is expected to make an immediate impact in the backcourt. His commitment signifies a strong start to Coach White's recruiting efforts, emphasizing the program's appeal to top-tier talent.

Coach White's Vision for the Ragin’ Cajuns

Quannas White, a New Orleans native and former associate head coach at the University of Houston, brings a wealth of experience and a track record of developing elite guards. His appointment as head coach marks a new chapter for Louisiana basketball, focusing on building a competitive and cohesive team.

With the additions of Woodson and Collins, Coach White is laying the foundation for a revitalized program poised to make significant strides in the Sun Belt Conference. Fans can anticipate a blend of seasoned leadership and youthful energy as the Ragin’ Cajuns embark on this new era.
